Your Green World a resounding success
Delivery address
With an impressive programme and innovative product highlights, the BITZER trade fair stands drew huge crowds at Chillventa 2018
Your Green World – even from afar, the green lettering of the BITZER trade fair motto greeted visitors to Chillventa, the international trade fair for refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pumps in Nuremberg. From 16 to 18 October, BITZER presented its product innovations at two stands. Over two storeys, the main BITZER stand impressed guests and showcased the company’s compressor technologies and condensing units. In an area measuring approximately 700 square metres, visitors had the opportunity to explore the numerous exhibits, converse with BITZER specialists and take part in one of the many events. The throng at the stand would increase every 30 minutes, when presenter Martin Mall would introduce BITZER product highlights on a spectacular video wall, drawing in huge crowds.
At the same time, BITZER employees had the opportunity to explain how natural refrigerants such as CO₂ and ammonia can offer an efficient and environmentally friendly solution. Using interactive screens, touch monitors, QR codes and animated graphics, visitors were also able to get acquainted with the BITZER ‘Customer Journey’, the intelligent BITZER products, the Green Point service and maintenance network and the many different BITZER services. The EXPANDER subcooling unit proved to be quite popular. In the future, this world first will allow BITZER to improve the cooling capacity of transcritical CO₂ refrigeration systems by more than 20 per cent – a true innovation in the industry.
Always up to date
To provide visitors with an overview of the numerous activities, BITZER posted its many highlights on social media. For example, a countdown on the Facebook page announced the next BITZER product presentation, whilst a schedule listed the upcoming CO₂ and retrofit training courses. Facebook users could also follow the presentations via live broadcast on their screens. If we have managed to whet your appetite and you would like to explore Chillventa (again), you can view the new trade fair videos on YouTube. A drone video guides viewers through the two-storey world of BITZER, whilst company specialists from Italy , Austria , Scandinavia and Germany introduce the latest BITZER innovations.
Growth sector with its own stand: BITZER HEXPV
Just a stone’s throw from the main area, BITZER presented the growing sector of pressure vessels and heat exchangers (HEXPV) at its second trade fair stand, which measured 58 square metres. BITZER had reserved a section of the stand specifically for its HEXPV CO₂ solutions. Having acquired the corresponding product segment from Alfa Laval SpA earlier this year, BITZER is now the world’s largest independent manufacturer of shell-and-tube heat exchangers and will systematically expand the entire HEXPV sector in the future – a development that interested many stand visitors.

Double the success: press breakfast and customer evening
The traditional BITZER press breakfast was an exciting event. On the first day of the trade fair, around 40 international journalists attended the talks given by Gianni Parlanti, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at BITZER, and Rainer Große-Kracht, Chief Technology Officer at BITZER. The two members of the Management Board discussed business development at BITZER, the latest production innovations and the product strategy. Both Managing Directors then took questions from the journalists. ‘We are more than happy with how the press conference went. The journalists showed great interest in the company and were very interested in asking follow-up questions,’ sums up Patrick Koops, Press Officer and Head of Public Relations at BITZER. The next event kicked off that evening, with BITZER inviting its customers to a large marquee for the traditional customer evening. True to the principle of ‘Energy’, the refrigeration and air-conditioning specialist impressed its guests with a varied programme of music, dancing and shows, electrifying everyone long into the night.
Valerius Füner Prize for successful university graduates
The schedule also included a few programme highlights on the other two days. As in previous years, the Valerius Füner Prize was presented at the BITZER trade fair stand. The award recognises the best graduates from the bachelor degree course in mechanical engineering with a focus on refrigeration, air-conditioning and environmental technology at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Rainer Große-Kracht presented the award to Patrick Horn. The second award winner, Tobias Nitschke, was unable to attend. ‘At BITZER, we strive to drive innovation, find new solutions and never stop improving the technical aspects of our products. We need highly qualified, motivated young professionals to continue meeting these standards in the future. As such, we support young people who distinguish themselves through outstanding achievements,’ says Große-Kracht. Presented once a year, the Valerius Füner Prize is supported by THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION as the main sponsor.
Award for BITZER customers
NürnbergMesse and Bauverlag presented compact Kältetechnik GmbH with the Chillventa AWARD in the commercial refrigeration category. The company only uses BITZER compressors and won over the specialist jury in the areas of functionality, energy consumption and technical innovation. ‘Congratulations to compact for this award,’ says Andreas Riesch, BITZER Director of Sales for Germany and Switzerland. ‘We’re delighted that we were able to contribute to this award with our products.’
