Eighty years young and just as innovative as on the first day: long-standing company BITZER SE will be making an appearance at Chillventa 2014 from October 14 to 16. At its trade fair stand (Hall 4, stands 310 and 408), BITZER will be introducing specialists and visitors to one of its most important innovations: the cutting-edge BAHT oil management system.

The patent-pending BITZER Advanced Header Technology (BAHT) is designed for scroll compressor tandems and trios and makes it easier to combine uneven compressors in a parallel circuit in air conditioning and heat pump systems. The newly developed suction gas header with integrated oil distribution plays a key role in this improvement, directing oil to one of the compressors in the tandem and trio units – and from there distributing it among the other compressors. What makes the BAHT system so unique is that it also works with uneven scroll compressors in one unit or when adjusting the frequency of a single compressor. And the system offers another major advantage: active oil management with an oil separator is no longer necessary. Even when a compressor is shut off, the BITZER Advanced Header Technology maintains oil distribution in the unit.

New capacity combinations
“By combining uneven scroll compressors in a parallel circuit, the BAHT system makes it possible to achieve brand-new capacity combinations,” explains Volker Stamer, Director Stationary Products at BITZER. “In some cases, even without active oil equalization. This represents a unique selling point that only BITZER can offer and a major benefit that throws open a whole array of new options when configuring future systems.”

The BITZER Advanced Header Technology boasts a whole host of benefits: only one suction line is required for many compressor combinations – and without an individual combination of restrictor washers. The system also functions with exceptional reliability at high and low suction gas volume flows.

The five models of the ORBIT 6 scroll compressors are ideal particularly for air conditioning systems and heat pumps. They offer displacements from 20 to 38 m3/h at 50 Hz, while maintaining low sound levels. The larger ORBIT 8 series has six displacement volumes ranging from 29 to 77 m3/h at 50 Hz – with a very low oil carry over rate, higher system efficiency and greater operating reliability.
