Kai Kowalewsky Becomes New Managing Director at Armaturenwerk Altenburg GmbH (AWA)

Sindelfingen/Altenburg, 11.07.2014. On July 2, Kai Kowalewsky assumed the position of Managing Director at the BITZER subsidiary Armaturenwerk Altenburg GmbH (AWA). He is responsible for purchasing, technology, production and sales and heads the company together with Diana Schubert. Kowalewsky is taking over from Günter Schuboth, who has left the company, and will oversee the associated responsibilities until a permanent solution can be found.

Working with Schubert, he aims to expand both the Altenburg location and international activities. "I’m confident we’ll be able to appoint a new Managing Director within six to twelve months," says Kowalewsky. "Still, I’m looking forward to the exciting tasks before me and appreciate the trust that’s been placed in me. AWA’s economic situation is outstanding and that’s a good foundation on which to consolidate our position and continue growing and expanding."The 46-year-old industrial engineer and certified technician has already been with BITZER for twelve years, the last five of which as Director of International Technical Coordination. Kowalewsky has many years of experience in mechanical engineering and refrigeration technology under his belt and has already worked for a variety of companies such as Witzenmann, Sümak Kältetechnik and Trumpf, both in Germany and abroad.
