Available mechanical capacity control
For capacity control in combination with the CM-RC-02 compressor module, extension board A (CM-IO-A) or B (CM-IO-B) is always required.
- On CM-RC-02 with extension board CM-IO-A, max. 2 capacity regulators can be connected (3 peripheral devices in total).
- With extension board CM-IO-B, max. 4 capacity regulators can be connected (6 peripheral devices in total).
- Without extension board, the capacity regulators must be controlled by an external controller – in this case, however, only stepped capacity control via blocked suction (CR) is possible, not intermittent activation of the capacity regulators (CRII).
Ordering a compressor with capacity control but without an extension board therefore only makes sense if
- only stepped capacity control by means of an external controller is planned, or if
- virtually stepless capacity control CRII is to be made possible by means of a retrofitted extension board.
The maximum number of capacity regulators per compressor also depends on the compressor model (Connection positions of the capacity regulators).

The mounting of the enclosed solenoid valve with a pre-mounted cylinder head is described in the chapter on retrofitting (Pre-mounted cylinder head: Mounting the solenoid valve).
In many cases, existing compressors can be retrofitted with mechanical capacity control, but this requires replacing the cylinder heads (Retrofitting capacity regulators).
