Connection positions of the capacity regulators
On most compressors, each cylinder head can be fitted with a capacity regulator. Exceptions are:
- 6-cylinder compressors for R744: max. 2 cylinder heads with capacity regulator or start unloading
- 8-cylinder compressors for HC, HFC, HFO: max. 2 cylinder heads with capacity regulator or start unloading
Details see below.
The following chapters primarily show the connection positions of the capacity regulators. Further details are available for each compressor in the BITZER Software:
- Dimensional drawings (mostly without capacity regulators)
- 3D CAD models with capacity regulators as option
Combination of capacity control and start unloading
- Semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors for R744 (CO2): Since the capacity regulators are designed using the bypass principle, they can also be used for start unloading.
- Semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors for hydrocarbons, HFC, HFO: If a cylinder bank is equipped with start unloading, it is no longer available for capacity control. A 4-cylinder compressor can therefore be equipped with either 2 capacity regulators or with start unloading and 1 capacity regulator. In 6-cylinder compressors, the third cylinder bank can have an additional capacity regulator.
