BITZER strengthens partnership for China’s sustainable HVAC&R future
Beijing, 08.04.2026. At China Refrigeration Expo 2026 in Beijing, BITZER will present itself as a reliable, long‑term partner and focus on what matters most for China’s HVAC&R industry: energy efficient components for future proof refrigerants, advanced technologies for the decarbonisation of heating, and precise cooling solutions for data centers and AI factories. Under the motto ‘SHAPING THE FUTURE WITH YOU’, the specialist in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology will present its innovations at China Refrigeration Expo at Stand A2G01 in Hall A2.
In a period of profound economic and technological transformation, partnership, reliability and long‑term vision are more important than ever. At China Refrigeration Expo 2026, taking place from 8 to 10 April in Beijing, BITZER will underline its strong commitment to the Chinese market and its customers. Under the motto ‘SHAPING THE FUTURE WITH YOU’, the specialist in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology will showcase its solutions at Stand A2G01 in Hall A2.
China’s HVAC&R industry is advancing rapidly towards higher energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions and intelligent, digitalized systems. Driven by the country’s low‑carbon agenda and the objectives of the 15th Five‑Year Plan, sustainability has become a shared responsibility across the entire value chain. BITZER supports this journey with technologies for CO₂ reduction and future‑proof refrigerants – offering practical answers to both Chinese and global challenges.
‘China’s transformation towards a low‑carbon, energy‑efficient and digital economy is creating new opportunities across many industries,’ says Martin Büchsel, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at BITZER. ‘With our broad portfolio, we support our customers in making their systems reliable, compliant and competitive, today and in the long term. For us, shaping the future means growing sustainably together with our partners in China.’
At the same time, new engines of growth are emerging. With solutions for data center cooling for AI and Digital China, heat pump technologies for decarbonisation, and intelligent aftersales and service concepts based on predictive performance and remote monitoring, BITZER is helping customers to be successful with new business opportunities and grow sustainably. Beyond opening new markets, the company is also strengthening existing business by improving efficiency and competitiveness – for example through advanced refrigeration technologies such as an extended scroll portfolio and innovations like the new 2‑stage screw compressor.
With its strong local presence, combined with global engineering expertise, BITZER stands side by side with its partners in China – committed to shared growth, shared responsibility and a shared future.
Reliable data center cooling starts with components from BITZER
Rising rack power densities, especially driven by AI applications and high-density computing, are increasing thermal loads in data centers. Operators therefore need powerful, efficient cooling systems that ensure uninterrupted operation and high infrastructure availability – while also helping to meet ambitious PUE targets, the key efficiency indicator of modern data centers.
At China Refrigeration Expo 2026, BITZER will showcase, among others, screw compressors for reliable and energy efficient data center cooling. Designed for operation with various refrigerants, including the low GWP refrigerant R1234ze(E), the CSW105 compact screw compressors deliver up to 4 MW of cooling capacity in a tandem configuration, making them suitable for hyperscale data centers. Featuring double-slider technology and automatic Vi adjustment, they provide a wide capacity modulation range and maintain high efficiency under varying loads and operating conditions.
BITZER products with future-proof refrigerants
China is accelerating its transition to low GWP refrigerants in line with the Kigali Amendment and its national Green Cooling Action Plan. The country has frozen HFC consumption at 2024 levels and will begin its first reduction step in 2029, while rolling out sector specific bans on high GWP refrigerants through 2026 to 2030. This development is driving strong demand for efficient, future proof solutions across the HVAC&R industry.
Europe is moving decisively toward minimal use of high GWP fluorinated gases under the new F Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573, which tightened quotas, extended product bans and operator obligations. In parallel, the EU’s PFAS restriction dossier under REACH is under development, with an opinion published last week and final EU Commission decision expected by the end of 2026 – a process that could further limit certain fluorinated chemistries depending on risk control and derogations.
SHST 2-stage screw compressors for blast freezing applications
Designed for demanding blast freezing and low temperature applications, the new SHST 2-stage screw compressor series is one of the product highlights at the BITZER stand. Optimised for low GWP refrigerants, it supports reliable long-term operation in view of upcoming GWP restrictions after 2029.
The compressor features two permanent magnet motors, each with an independent variable speed drive (VSD). Individual Vi adaptation on both compression stages ensures high efficiency across a wide operating range. The SHST series comprises three models with displacements from 250 to 1350 m³/h at 50 Hz and allows evaporation temperatures down to −65 °C.
The new BITZER SHST 2-stage screw compressor series originates from a newly established joint venture between BITZER China and Xinlei: BITZER Two Stages (Shanghai) Compressor Co., Ltd. The formation of this joint venture and the introduction of the SHST series strengthen BITZER’s presence in the China-based market. The product portfolio is designed for low temperature applications such as blast freezing and freeze-drying. The focus is on energy-efficient and low-carbon solutions, complemented by enhanced presale and aftersales services tailored to local market requirements.
Engineered for performance and reliability in various applications
BITZER also presents its comprehensive portfolio of scroll compressors for a wide range of applications, including air conditioning and heat pump systems. The variable frequency scroll compressors of the CEFV series, for example, feature permanent magnet synchronous motors with a wide capacity modulation range. Their scroll profile is specifically optimised for high pressure ratio heat pump applications under low ambient temperature conditions. In combination with Flexible Injection Technology (FIT), this enables efficient operation at low evaporating temperatures and achieves high Integrated Part Load Value (IPLV) performance. Orbiting scroll centrifugal force balance technology and oil supply technology ensure reliable operation across the entire speed range.
The CSF scroll compressor series has been developed for air conditioning and heat pump systems. It is characterised by high efficiency, a wide operating range, and a robust, reliable design. Optimised scroll and overall unit design make the series particularly suitable for water chiller applications, enabling compact system layouts, low noise operation, and strong part load efficiency with excellent IPLV performance.
BITZER optimised solutions and services
BITZER strengthens its position as a global service provider with a comprehensive network that includes the worldwide GREEN POINT centres, ensuring customers and partners benefit from convenience, deep technical expertise and long system lifetimes. From commissioning and maintenance to modernisation and remanufacturing, BITZER Services offer reliable support, original spare parts and oils, fast diagnostics and access to the expert knowledge that defines BITZER quality. ‘Our customers rely on BITZER not only for innovative components, but for long term peace of mind and success,’ says Biao Feng, Senior Vice President of Sales and Managing Director of BITZER Greater China. ‘With our service network, including GREEN POINT, we make sure they receive consistent, high quality support across the entire product life cycle.’
