Mount new shaft seal
Clean shaft and visually check for damage and wear
- Cleaning agent / degreaser
Unpack new rotating unit and clean sliding face
- Clean cloth
3 Loosen stud screws at rotating unit
- Hexagon spanner with shortened leg
Lubricate O-ring at rotating unit
- Refrigeration compressor oil
- Oil drain pan (if necessary)
Slide rotating unit onto shaft

At first, slightly tighten stud screws of rotating unit

Firmly tighten stud screws of new rotating unit

Fill oil channel of sealing cover with refrigeration oil
- Refrigeration compressor oil
- Oil drain pan (if necessary)
Insert 2 screws into sealing cover
Place gasket on sealing cover
Lubricate sliding ring and shaft
- Refrigeration compressor oil
- Oil drain pan (if necessary)
Slide sealing cover onto shaft
Mount sealing cover

Tighten screws crosswise in at least 2 steps to the prescribed tightening torque.
- Hexagon spanner 5 mm
- Torque spanner
- Tightening torque: 80 Nm
Turn shaft
Mount oil drain tube
Pressurize compressor and check tightness
- Check refrigerant circuit (assembly) as a whole or in parts for tightness – according to EN 378-2 (or equivalent applicable safety standards).
- Generate excess pressure preferably with nitrogen.

The pressure applied during the test must never exceed the maximum permitted values!
Test pressure: 1.1-fold of the maximum allowable pressure (see name plate). Make a distinction between the high-pressure and low-pressure sides!
