Selecting the liquid subcooler in the BITZER SOFTWARE

An ECO process in the p, h diagram is illustrated below (p, h diagram and system example). A standard setting of 10 K temperature difference between saturated ECO temperature and subcooled liquid temperature is used in the BITZER Software when "Auto subcooling" is selected. This temperature difference is also indicated as Δteco in the diagram below.

Relevant ECO performance data can be obtained in the BITZER Software as illustrated in the following figure (Performance data).

The liquid subcooler performance data can then be used in order to identify an adequately sized heat exchanger in a heat exchanger selection program. Afterwards, the performance data of the compressor must be re-calculated in the BITZER Software with adjusted liquid subcooler performance data. Actual liquid subcooling or temperature differences must be specified in the BITZER Software as shown below (Specifying liquid subcooling or temperature difference).
