Comparison via refrigerant property data

Here it is shown by examples, how comparisons can be done using the thermodynamic property data of refrigerants (Thermodynamics). Also here, the operating conditions have to be selected well, to make a proper choice between refrigerants with different thermodynamic behaviour. Afterwards, it has to be evaluated whether the operating conditions can be brought into real life systems with the selected refrigerants. A possible limitation would be an excessive discharge temperature. Here, it must be observed that the purely theoretical process calculation assumes an isentropic compression, free of losses. This will result in both the discharge gas temperature and the compression power being calculated lower than appearing in a real life system. As this is applied the same way for all refrigerants, a useful comparison is possible.
