High-performance refrigeration solution for dairy storage in Maharashtra
Megastar Engineering, BITZER and VaCom Technologies have collaborated to deliver a cutting-edge refrigeration system for Saptagiri Foods & Cold Storage, located in Sangamner, Maharashtra, India. This greenfield development features advanced refrigeration technology tailored for frozen and chilled dairy products.
Frozen dairy storage
Three chambers with a total capacity of 1,000 MT are designed for storing frozen dairy items such as butter and ice cream. These chambers utilise a screw compressor rack with semi-hermetic compressors of the BITZER HS series, one of which is equipped with a frequency inverter. The system achieves a cooling capacity of 125 kW at –35°C evaporation and 40°C condensing temperatures, using refrigerant R404A. The inverter ensures efficient load management across varying product volumes and temperature needs.
Chilled dairy storage
A dedicated chamber for chilled dairy products is supported by two BITZER LHE air cooled condensing units, also using R404A. These units provide a combined cooling capacity of 47 kW at –5°C evaporation and 42°C ambient temperature.
Conclusion
This refrigeration solution exemplifies innovation and efficiency in dairy storage, leveraging advanced compressor technology and strategic collaboration.
