HS. and OS. parallel compounding
BITZER screw compressors of the HS. and OS. series are particularly suitable for parallel operation because the oil reservoir is located outside the compressor – thus a common oil separator can be used. Systems with R717 (ammonia) are not described here, but in:
- AT-640: Use of ammonia (R717) in Bitzer compressors
Essential advantages of the BITZER compound technology:
- Extension of the capacities specified by single compressors
- Compounding of compressors of identical or different capacities and designs
- Combination of different temperature levels if necessary
- Lossless capacity control
- Optimum oil distribution due to common supply
- Low mains load when starting
- High operational reliability
- Simple and cost-effective installation, oil separator and other accessories are available
It is essential to mind the parallel compounding:
- Arrangement of oil separator, oil cooler, suction and pressure collector and further design as described in this document.
- The distance between compressor, oil separator and oil cooler should be small.
- For designs with oil coolers, also mind
