Timing for prohibitions and quantitative limits in general

Whereas the European Union already phases down HFCs due to the legal requirements of the EU F-Gas Regulation, the requirements of the Kigali Amendment will become effective until 2045 with a gradual phase down. According to Article 5 of the Montreal Protocol, certain countries have special regulations for HCFCs (e.g. R22), which allow for a gradual phase down and the final ban even until 2040.
